How to Use a Margarita Machine
There is no better way to kick off a party than with a margarita machine. Not only can you make adult beverages that all your guests will enjoy, but the recipe can be altered to be kid-friendly too! Margarita machines add a fun twist to any party and can be the focal point of your food and drink layouts. Most margarita machines include the same parts and components, so getting your margarita machine set up is easy – just follow the below steps!
Step 1: Secure the Ice Reservoir
Your ice reservoir holds the ice for your margaritas before it’s shaved down for your delicious drinks. Although it just takes a moment, ensuring that your ice reservoir is secured to your machine is essential for the rest of the process to work. Pop the lid off the top of the reservoir and either twist or press (depending on the model) the reservoir into place.
Now you’re ready to add your ice! Take the ice out of the freezer about ten minutes before adding it to your reservoir so the cubes aren’t too difficult for the machine to break up. Add the cubes to the reservoir, put the lid on, and lock it into place.
Step 2: Stock Your Blending Jar
Now it’s time to break out your favorite margarita recipe! Remove your blending jar from the machine and fill it with your favorite margarita mix and alcohol, or lime juice, simple syrup, and alcohol, or for an alcohol-free twist, you can just add the margarita mix. No matter what ingredients you select, make sure you don’t overfill the jar to prevent the mixture from getting all over your counters.
Once your jar is full, add the lid back, and place the jar back in the machine.
Step 3: Make the Margaritas
Your machine is set up, so now all that’s left is making your drinks! Press the “Shave ‘n Blend” button to start shaving your ice; once your ice is shaved down, the machine will automatically drop the shavings into your drink mixture.
If you want a thicker margarita, it’s a slightly more manual process. Use the “Shave Only” button and add ice until you have the amount of ice you want. Then, press “Blend Only” to add the ice shavings to your drink mixture.
For thinner margaritas, just continue to blend!
Step 4: Serve Your Drinks
Once your drinks are at the right consistency, take the blending jar from the margarita machine, lift the lid, and pour!
Of course, margaritas aren’t the only drink you can make with your margarita machine! Add juice instead of margarita mix and alcohol for a slushie, or fruit for a smoothie – the possibilities are endless.
